Son of Italian singer and songwriter Mimmo Locasciulli, Matteo grew up in Italy surrounded by music where he was introduced to composition from an early age.
As a versatile multi-instrumentalist, he plays guitar, keyboards, bass and double bass, which he refined under the mentorship of internationally acclaimed bass player and arranger Greg Cohen (Tom Waits, David Byrne, The Rolling Stones, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Elvis Costello).
Since 2002, he has worked as a songwriter, composer and producer for various bands in the Italian Pop/ Rock scene.
In 2012, Matteo moved to Paris and founded Alba Musique, his own music production studio dedicated to media scoring where he is today surrounded by a team of talented musicians and a sound engineer.
Matteo has contributed to several feature films (for Luc Besson, Franck Dubosc, Nicolas Vanier and others), TV fiction for major broadcasters (TF1, HBO, Disney), over 50 documentaries (Arte, France 2, M6, Canal+), animated series (Miraculous World, The Little Prince, Pinocchio, The Three Musketeers), and advertising campaigns (Chanel, Gucci, Lego, Schweppes, Lancôme).
Matteo’s latest works include the long awaited TF1 period show Montmartre for which he provided 6 hours of music, entirely written to screen.
